Domestic Career Of Anrich Nortje

He started his professional cricketing journey in 2016 when he was 23 years old, it all began when he was included in Eastern Province’s squad for the Africa t20 cup in 2016. A couple of years after in October 2018, he was picked by Cape town’s Blitz for the Mzansi Super League, though it was not a memorable appearance for him as he was ruled out from the tournament due to an ankle injury.

In 2019 again he got picked in Mzansi Super League by the Capetown blitz and had a decent appearance & performance for them. He played a few of the other competitive t20 tournaments that paved way for him to get an opportunity at the international level for his country.

In April 2021, he was named in the eastern province’s squad, ahead of the 2021-2022 cricket season in South Africa.

There is one very interesting & mind-blowing about him that can’t be missed out on, it was 14th October 2020 during the 30th match of the IPL Nortje from his arsenal did manage to bowl a delivery at a speed of 156.22 km/h which is recorded as 97 miles per hour and it is the fastest delivery to date in the IPL, he bowled this delivery to English batsman Jos Butler.

Since the time he joined Delhi Capitals, it turned out to be well for him as he got plenty of opportunities there but also for Delhi as well as they qualified for their first IPL final in 2020

ODI Career Of Anrich Nortje

The ODI career of Anrich Nortje started in February 2019, he got selected for the series of South Africa against the Sri Lanka National Team. He made his debut on 3rd March 2019. The next biggest progress that he had in ODI format came when he got selected for the ICC Cricket World Cup. However, he got himself out of it due to an irresistible injury of hand & Chris Morris was named as his replacement. In March 2019 he got his first opportunity to represent his country in t20i format against Sri Lanka, but it all began with a horror story for him as he was ruled out of the t20i series due to an injury. Despite playing inconsistent cricket due to different injuries, he still got the backing of the selectors as in august 2019 he was picked for the t20i series against India & in that tour he made his debut against India on 18 September 2019.

He has been a regular member of the t20i team of his country & does have a lot of demands across the globe for t20 cricket, so far in his t20 international career he has played 16 matches & has taken 18 wickets with an astonishing economy of 6.75
