All The Details of Binura Fernando: The Sri Lankan Player Biography

Chaminda Vaas is arguably one of the greatest Sri Lankan fast bowlers of all time. Since he retired, Sri Lanka has not produced a left-arm sprinter that can be consistent at the highest level of the game.

As many experts confirm, Binura Fernando seems to be the answer Sri Lanka has been longing for.

The 6ft 6in ladder hails from the Sri Lankan capital and is known for its ability to add an extra bounce to any wicket. Aside from his ability to swing in both directions, tempo changes, slow gorillas and Yorkers are what make him a bowler to be reckoned with. He had the great honor of sharing a dressing room with the likes of Mahela Jayawardene, Kumara Sangakkara, Angelo Mathews, and Rangana Herath. She was part of The Sri Lankan Squad that participated in the Jayawardene farewell test.

His impressive show came at the 2014 U19 World Cup, helping him secure a place in the testing streak against Pakistan in 2014. However, he is still pending his debut in testing and ODIs. Binura Fernando’s old wish was finally fulfilled when he was offered the opportunity to represent his country in the shorter version of the game. He made his T20I debut against Pakistan in 2015 and had managed 3 wickets in the 2-game T20I series.
