Sarfaraz Khan was born and nurtured in the countryside area of Mumbai. He spent his boyhood in Azad Maiden. His father, a Naushad khan, was a coach who taught cricket to young cricketers such as Iqbal Abdullah and Kamran Khan. He started playing cricket early as his father found out about his good balling skills. Moreover, he had done practice on a manufactured pitch laid by his father behind his home for his practice.
