T. Natarajan was picked for three crores in 2017 by KXIP after his exemplary performance in the domestic circuit and the TNLP first edition. On April 8, 2017, he made his first IPL debut with the KXIP playing against Rising Pune Supergiants. He picked up two wickets from all the six matches he played for that season. Though it was not impressive, it was a good starting point for him. He missed the 2017-18 IPL season because he had an elbow injury. Nevertheless, he was picked during an auction by Sunrisers Hyderabad for 40 Lakhs. He bagged 16 wickets in the 2020 IPL, played 16 matches, and impressed many people with his yorkers.


In 2020 December, T. Natarajan was picked for an Australia tour after a successful and impressive performance in the 2020 IPL. He was named one of the best four bowlers to represent India in the Australia tour. He was picked to cover for Navdeep Saini just a day before the ODI on December 2 to play against Australia, where he made his first ODI debut.


T. Natarajan traveled to represent India in a tour in Australia as an additional bowler covering for Varun Chakravarthy just a day before his ODI debut. It was during that tour that he made his first T20I debut.


On January 15, 2021, T. Natarajan was included in the XI for the last test to battle Australia after most of the Indian bowlers had sustained injuries from the previous tournaments. He became the first Indian to bag three debuts in a single tour.
