T20 World Cup 2021 Venue

UAE and Oman both might be considered as Novice nations to hold an ICC tournament but they have proven their worth before. Even as this article is being typed, two teams from the biggest T20 premier league, IPL are playing against each other in the UAE. There are four stadiums included as the Venues for the t20 World cup from UAE and Oman.

It is up for a debate that, Is four stadiums are enough to conduct the world cup? So this does not have an accrual answer, but right now with BCCI’s efficiency and perseverance, they conducted the first leg of the IPL within just two venues.

Also regarding the Isolation rules, it is a smart decision to conduct the World Cup in a compressed manner, the team does not have to move that much also considering the weather, it is Cricket friendly and as a Nation, UAE is very welcoming to Cricket over the past few years. The four stadiums chosen as the venues are;

Dubai International Stadium
Sheikh Zayed Stadium (In Abu Dhabi)
Sharjah Stadium
Oman Cricket Academy Ground

Champions Trophy

The ICC schedule is jam-packed with tournaments, there are two continuous events of ICC that are going to take place in a consecutive manner within the following years. In 2018, April, ICC announced that due to their hectic cricket schedule they were going to conduct the T20 world cup in 2020, and Australia would be the host nation.

Due to the Global pandemic that gets postponed and then it was scheduled to happen in 2021 organized by India but the venues will be UAE and Oman. Now comes the Champions trophy, as that is also scheduled to happen in 2021, so that gets postponed again and finally it is going to happen in 2022, and Australia will be the Hosting nation.

Participating Teams in both Rounds of T20 World cup

16 teams are qualified to take part in the T20 world cup, amongst them eight-team will be participating in the first round of the tournament, which is scheduled to start from 17th October. The first match will be between two nations which are very novice for the ICC tournaments but also with their dedication proven themselves as the worthy inclusion, they are the hosting nation Oman and Papua New Guinea, the inauguration match will take place in Muscat.

Round 1 will end on 22nd October with the last match between Sri Lanka and the Netherlands in Sharjah. Four teams are going to qualify for the Super twelve and they will be joined with the other eight teams which are already qualified due to the standing on the T20 point list. The Super 12 is going to start on 23rd October in Abu Dhabi.

There are two groups; the first match is from Group 1 and it is in between the mighty Australians and Dangerous Proteas (South Africa), on the other hand, Group 2 is coming to the party on 24th October with the biggest Cricket rivalry of all time, India Vs Pakistan in Dubai.

This is now a regular occurrence in the ICC tournaments and so far in every tournament, this is the match that promises the best TRP and sales.  The group matches would end within 8th November and hopefully, the audience will find deserving semi-finalists within then. The Semi-finals are scheduled to be on 10th and 11th November and the winners from those sudden death matches will meet at the Final on 14th November in Dubai.

Team Announcements Of T20 WORLD CUP 2021

Every other participating team already announced their Teams for the tournament. As this is a long tournament the teams are allowed to keep Travelling reserves, and every other team kept 2-3 players as Travelling reserves. In the case of total players, teams are not allowed to take more than 20 players.

The traveling reserve and big teams are new normal, in the recent India Vs Sri Lanka series it had been witnessed that individual’s health are still in very vulnerable phase so players can get unavailable and due to isolation rules, Team can not arrange changes quickly, so if the teams travel with an adequate amount of reserve players, they can replace their injured or according to today’s world more appropriate word would be to replace their COVID positive player.

The quality of teams can never be assessed, as every team is strong in the tournament, still the approach most of the teams made through their team selection is to promote their Young guns. India is very much an experienced team, led by one of the Fab Five, the great Virat Kohli. BCCI also announced MS Dhoni as the Mentor, and fans are losing their mind and certainly, these moves make India the most obvious and strong contender.
